The week gone by was a busy week. A Week full of happenings.
Gave two presentations. It is very exciting when you give a talk with
confidence. When you feel that you are in full control of your talk. You are
the authority on the subject you talk about.
But it is extremely stressful to give presentation when you have nothing
much to say. I had nothing interesting
to say in the last talk. The preparation was the only reward. Learned a number
of interesting new facts.
Another excitement was the premier
of 21st century version of ‘Contact’. I am a big fan of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos.
The new host is Neal deGrass Tyson. I liked the first two episodes. The visuals
are stunning. Presentation is very entertaining. Overall it looks like a
suitable update of the classic. I must dedicate a number of blogs for its
review.
However, the news that got a
significant amount of my attention is the missing Boeing 777 of Malaysian
airways. It is big mystery till this moment I write this blog. Many
speculations are floating around: from mechanical failure to an alien
abduction. But I am surprised to learn that such a huge flight can completely
go missing even with so much advancement in air traffic communication and satellite
surveillance. It’s an eerie feeling given that I am preparing for an
intercontinental flight in two weeks. With all these technologies and
monitoring there are still places to hide in the tiny earth. Hope the mystery
will be resolved soon and would turn out to be a happy ending.
